
ZONE B6 MEETING MINUTES
A Zone Meeting was held on Monday, March 23, 2015.
Opening Ceremonies were conducted by Branch 58 President.
The Meeting opened at 7:30 p.m.
The Roll was called. All Branches were represented.
MOTION to deviate from the Agenda was passed.

The Minutes were adopted as circulated.
CORRESPONDENCE
By Law Books and assorted manuals will now be published by Ontario Command.
A letter from Comrade Rick Valois was read. Regrettably he will be resigning from his position as Zone Sergeant @ Arms.
Dominion Command sent a letter to all Districts, Zones and Branches noting cost-cutting changes.
The Windsor Service Bureau has relocated to London. Rebecca Calder is the new Service Bureau Secretary and Kim Dolan is the New Service Officer. Address: Royal Canadian Legion

ZONE COMMANDERS REPORT
Comrade Zone Commander John Murphy welcomed the election committee from District: Comrade Tom Astley, Hank Nikitczuk and Wes Kutisienski. They spoke of their aims for next year.
He also stated he hoped there would be representation from each Branch at the District Convention next week.
TREASURER’S REPORT
Past Zone Commander Comrade Jim Chesterfield was absent. No report.
POPPY
Comrade Robert Watson is bowing out of the Poppy Chairmanship. It is too difficult to travel from his new home.
MEMBERSHIP
Comrade Joyce Brown noted that Dominion Command has finally updated their membership reports on line. As of March 10 Zone B6 has 68% of memberships paid for the year. Waterdown is in the lead with 87%. Keep up with your remittances.
PRO
Comrade Peter Whittaker reported that he had updated the website. He asked Branches to get their PRO’S to join with him to make the Zone aware of events in the other Branches so members can avail themselves of those activities.
SERGEANT @ ARMS
All Branches were represented. 29 were present for the Meeting. 3 guests were also present. We will miss Comrade Rick at Zone Meetings and hope he will attend some.
SPORTS
Euchre winners were branch 58 Hamilton and mixed team winners were branch 551 Waterdown with mixed double winners from Branch 622 Stoney Creek
TRAINING AND ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Comrade Don Hubbs announced he will be stepping down from his job as TOD for Zone. We will miss him but hope he still will attend Meeting. Comrade Don always has something valuable to add. He is fountain of information and if you pick up the phone he can answer any Legion question you have.
YOUTH EDUCATION
Comrade Jackie Ralston stated that our Zone had 4 Provincial winners in the Poster and Literary Contest. Our Public Speaking Contest is winding down.
L.A. REPORT
Comrade Jackie Ralston stated that we have our Zone Convention on April 19, 2015.
BURSARIES
Comrade Jackie Ralston reported that April 16 is the last day for applications until the autumn.
WAYS AND MEANS
Comrade Wilma Becker stated that $93.00 was raised at the March Meeting at Branch 622.

GENERAL AND NEW BUSINESS
Zone cannot own property so the responsibility for the Cemetery Plots will revert to Branch 163. The Last Post has been informed of these Plots and will pay for markers for graves of Veterans.
The next Meeting will be at on MONDAY, MAY 25, 2015 AT BRANCH 60, BURLIINGTON.
The Meeting concluded at 9p.m.
The Zone Elections were conducted by the District Commander and his Deputies. Comrade John Murphy was returned to office as Zone Commander and Comrade Joyce Brown was returned as Deputy Zone Commander. CONGRATULATIONS!
