A Zone Meeting was held on Monday, November 26, 2013 at Branch 36.

Opening Ceremonies were conducted by Comrade Zone Commander John Murphy.

The Meeting opened at 7:35 p.m.

The Roll was called. All Branches were represented with the exception of Branch 622 and 315.

MOTION to deviate from the Agenda was passed.

CORRESPONDENCE

June 6, 2014 will be the 70^th Anniversary of D-Day.

ZONE COMMANDERS REPORT

Comrade Zone Commander John Murphy thanked Comrades Robert Watson, Joyce Brown and Jim Chesterfield  for completing the Branch Inspections. He noted that they were all very successful.

In answer to a question from Comrade Jim Chesterfield Comrade John stated that all our Branch Regulations had been approved. He further noted that a motion to make an amendment to the Regulations  must be advertized and then approved by the Branch’s General Meeting. Then it must be forwarded to Ontario  Command for approval.

POPPY

Comrade Robert Watson reported:

That Branches must get permission from the membership of the Branch and then fill out a “special use” form” if requesting use of Poppy Funds for purposes other than aiding a Veteran or Bursaries.  This must be filed and approved by Ontario Command before the funds can be used. Comrade Watson noted that there are many ways to help veterans and Senior.

A discussion arose when it was discovered that the Salvation Army could not receive a cheque. Why the request made by a Branch was turned down will be investigated.

MEMBERSHIP

Comrade Joyce Brown stated B 6 has 96% of our members renewed for 2013.

We have a decrease of 122 members—keep up the good work. LET’S TRY FOR 100% MEMBERSHIP FOR 2014!

Comrade Peter Whittaker reported:

Comrade Garry Spears reported that the Snooker tournament will be held on January 4.

TRAINING AND ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Comrade Don Hubbs stated that there was a good turnout for the TOD  Seminar.

YOUTH EDUCATION

Comrade Jackie Ralston stated that the literary entries will be forwarded to District and further to Provincial and results will be announced as they become available.

L.A. REPORT

Comrade Jackie Ralston stated that all the Ladies Auxiliaries had been inspected successfully (except one) and all the clubs are holding the joint meetings with their Branch Executives.
