On Sunday, 26th May, 2019 from 8:30-11:30am, 27 Volunteers from Branch 36 took part in the Spring Work Party to ensure that the Branch was up to snuff for the Branch 36 D-Day Church Parade and Service.
Members of the work party split up into groups and did various tasks in and around the branch including sweeping the parking lot, checking plants in the front gardens, planting new plants around the Legion property and general cleanup. Repainting of part of the clubroom bar front was completed where the paint had suffered over time. Gord Sharpe, Peter Whittaker and Bill Ralston removed the carpeting behind the bar and replace some of the flooring supports where the carpeting had been removed. It is hoped to replace the carpeting that was removed in the future.
Mike Alkerton worked on cleaning up the stove in the Banquet Hall kitchen and Marie Kobolynski worked on cleaning up the kitchen area.
Stan Hicks and Brian Holme were outside at the front of the Branch, where they worked on all of the Flags hanging on the front wall of Branch 36.
Various in-house tasks were completed by Linda Rivers, Mary Whittaker and Judy Hall-Wright including washing, cleaning and dusting various areas in the clubroom and the Wentworth room.
